absolute NEWBIE
just picked up a my first FD last week however just noticed some problems....
first...not sure which it is but the primary or secondary fuel injector leaking and i can smell gas and see the gas too (trying to figure which one it is)its is near the drivers' hand side under the intake manifold
2. ..near the stock radiator&intercooler its black plastic rectangluar in shape witha cap but the plastic portion of it blew a hole spewing radiator fluid everyewhere when running and hot...i need to replace that as well but I dont know the name of the part and if there is an aftermarket replacemtn versus a stock plastic oem part
3..lastly a weird clunking sound dont know if it is my rotor or brakes it is located on the drivers side rear brake is making a cliunking/thumping sound adn when brakes are pressed it goes away
any ideas what these parts are and what i can do for the clunking noise and leaks (fuel injector and
radiator (?) plastic part???

Oh man you're in a world of hurt. I can't believe people don't research these cars before buying them. Oh well tho... here's some answers and things to read.
First of all, DO NOT drive your car. With the coolant leaking the motor is going to overheat and it's toast once that happens. These motors do not like heat at all and when they aren't being properly cooled the motor will give out easily. What you are talking about leaking is the AST (Air seperator tank). You need to go here: http://www.pettitracing.com/ and buy a new aluminum one. That will solve that problem. Seriously, if you've driven the car w/ that leak and it has over-heated you're also probably looking at a new motor. These cars can't take the abuse 99% can.
Here's a few links to check out since you're a newb.

This should get you started. I hope for your wallet's sake the motor isn't already gone.
btw, was it REALLY neccasary to post this 3 times?

Oh boy.
1. Fuel leak -- do NOT drive or even start the car in that condition. If you are not mechanically inclined, tow the car to a rotary shop. Your FPD (fuel pressure dampener) may be leaking or the injector o-rings could be shot. Either way, do NOT run the car.
2. The black plastic tank is the AST (air separator tank). Buy a metal replacement from the rx7store or rx7.com
3. Rear suspension bushings go bad on these cars, often in 40k or less. You will get massive clunking. You will have to get back there and see which bushing is bad (or take it to a shop, of course).
Please, please, spend some time reading this forum and Rob Robinette's and Steve Cirian's websites. Download a shop manual from www.iluvmyrx7.com . You have a lot to learn about owning one of these cars.
All that said, welcome to the club.

1) get that **** fixed FAST!!! I keep reading on this forum about engine bay fires caused by fuel leaks...
2) i believe that you need one of these:
ALUMINUM COOLANT AIR SEPARATOR TANK w/SAFETY LEVER VENT CAP
The Pettit aluminum air separator tank upgrade is a direct replacement for the plastic stock unit which is prone to splitting along the seam and causing unexpected coolant loss resulting in engine damage from overheating. All aluminum construction. Lever vent cap relieves pressure safely. Installs in 30 minutes or less.
3) not sure, but i think you need to replace you rear bushings. Someone else help out here. I hear they are a PITA to replace.
Congrats on getting the FD. Now, start looking for a second job to feed the habit...

3) Probably pillow ball bushings. Get some new ones from Ray Crowe(?) at malloy mazda (do a search for the phone number), and go to www.maxcooper.com for a write up on how to change them. They are actually not very hard to change. Expect to spend a few hours though.

I seriously wouldn't drive the car at all until you get the fuel leak fixed. If you even get a slight engine fire, you'll replace the harness and plastics (if you catch it in time). That alone will run you a couple grand.
Secondly, FIX THE FUEL LEAK. I know you want nothing more than to drive the car right now, but it will be down a LOT longer should it burn up.
Do a search on engine fires, and you'll see how frequent a problem this is.
