Newbie asks question!
Hello everybody!
This is my first post...anyway, I got some qestions about the gen 3 RX7.
What is the headlight blub size??? (H1, H4.....)
I find that there's 93 Rx7 for sale which has 8xxxxkm on it. So is its engine time to rebuild???
If I am going to get that RX7, what should I check and mention before paying?
Also, what is the difference between 93 model and 94 touring model????
THX

Most of the time the engine needs to be rebuilt by 80k. Check to see if the car has any mods to it. Downpipe is a reliability mod, so check for that. If the car is basically all stock, i would have an extra 3g for a rebuilt motor.

If I'm not mistaken, the 94's have passenger side air bags, glass moon roofs instead of sun roofs (in the tourings), and dash and exterior paint that won't come off as easily.

I think Redhaze has that right. I can't verify about the moonroof thing, but since I've wanted a Chaste White RX-7 as long as I known (and sicne they were only made 94+) that means they also come in sunroof flava so I guess maybe that was a Turing inclusion and you got a moonroof in the PEG. In any case, the best way to know if you need a rebuild is to feel for the car up till about 80K or so, then when something just doesn't feel right, that's the time old bessie needs to meat the autobahn in the sky . That or you see way too much smoke coming from the exhaust and/or engine.
O yeah plus the 94's had a stiffer suspension setup in the R2 compared to the R2's (or maybe it was all models?). 95's were even stiffer than that. To be quite honest, the only reason you would get anything besides a '93 (because it's hard enough to find an rx-7 as it is) is because 1)you want the rarest of the rare or 2)you want a color that wasn't offer in '93 and all that would be is the Chaste White .

The 93 R1s have very stiff suspension. The ride was too uncomfortably rough for most so they actually toned down the stiffness for the 94 R2s.
That's to the best of my recollection.

The HID kits you see we refer to as sleeklights. There are several companies that produce them. rotaryextreme has the hot ones as of right now I believe. And No, all 3rd gens do not have leather. R models came with suede.
