New wiring harness?

Well P.O. did me no favors on the engine harness, car runs but I am having some grimlins that could be wiring related, half of the clips on the plugs are broken, there is some cut wires, etc. I'm looking at just buying a new harness and being done with it, it's a bare bones setup, no idle valves, no emmissions, single turbo, etc. I have found rywire's harness, looks like wiring specialities does not make an FD 13b harness from what I see, is there any other options out there? Also does anyone have experience with the rywire harness? Thanks.

Also the rywire harness is back ordered with no ETA

Not a fan of Rywire harnesses at all. Issues with poor wiring, poor connections, CAS wires not properly shielded. No thanks.

IMO your best bet is to score a brand new Mazda OEM wiring harness from Ray Crowe for about 850 bones. You can email him at Crowe.Ray@aol.com

The modify as needed for your application, wrap in DEI fire tape etc.

I recently converted to a single turbo and had Chris Ludwig make me an oem replacement harness simplified so I can plug it into my power fc. Quality is top notch for sure. A lot better than my oem harness.

You can get a jdm harness relatively cheap, but will require slight modifications.

OEM or Ludwig LMS EFI. Short of making one myself I won't use anything else.

Really?? Wow. I've heard the opposite from many people with Rywire harnesses. What is the basis for your claim?

Call Ray!

I bought a brand new OEM engine harness from Ray, and I actually paid less than 850. ANYTHING OEM should only be purchased from Ray! I have yet to pay more for an OEM item anywhere online less than what he charges.

When I looked around, I found a few threads, one of which goodfella started asking about them. There were some people with issues on hondas and stuff that had bad/poor crimped connectors along with others saying they were good. I found a few other threads about poorly crimped connectors as well. I found a few other threads on the forum saying the same thing. Rywire emailed me back in May and said they were about 3-3.5 months out on the kits so I instead decided to contact Chris as he's built me another harness about 6 years ago so I decided to get one of his since I know the quality is top notch. It definitely didn't disappoint.

I've worked out the other issues with my car now, so it seems I don't have any wiring problems, however the harness doesn't look the best. If I'm going to buy a new oem harness to just start cutting on I might as well clean up mine. I'm really looking for an aftermarket already done harness, if I can't find anything I may just go through mine.

I think the general consensus is go with efi lms (chris) while some people have had no problems with rywire there have been many instances where they have. How many times have i heard of problems with efi lms.... None. so that must say something.

I'll just parrot what everyone else has said: LMS or OEM. I do somewhat have an agenda, however, as I have an OEM harness with about 5000 miles on it if you or anyone else is interested.
