new shifter panel, refinish on console and door

I wish I'd have taken a 'before' picture....the difference is night and day.

that looks great... did you do it or did you send it off somewhere to do it?
also what did you do exactly and what did you use?
I know I am full of questions but I want to get this done at some point also.

I just took everything apart, and sanded it down with first 320 then 400 grit sandpaper, this got rid of all the old 'mismatched height' stuff, then gave it a quick coat of DUPLICOLOR filler primer, scuffed that with some 800 grit and then shot it with DUPLICOLOR DA1605 Flat Black. I tell you...it is literally a PERFECT match for the stock finish.

+1. It does look very nice.

This is already on my "to do" list over the winter. Now I just need to get to the "to do" list.

I used this stuff to do part of mine....

worked great - no primer needed - but i did sand off the old peel-y stuff first.

Do you guys have a problem with chipping? I did mine about a 18 months ago and it looked awesome but it chips very easily and reveils the gray primer beneath. So far i have just touched it up with a sharpie. The only thing i can come up with is maybe used an inferior brand.

The right way to do this is take a rag and soak it in nail polish remover, and scrub off the weird rubber scratchy bits. Then sand it down lightly. I used black plasti-grip, it's not a paint. It puts a rubber coating on it and is guaranteed to never crack, warp, chip, etc

it looks awesome

For those of you who have this stuff in place for a while, how does it hold up to scratches and general abuse?

My 94 doesn't have the rubber finish, but it's pretty scratched up all around. I'm tempted to pull all plastics and refinish them with something more durable.
