Hi i am new to rotary world. i was searcing around and came across the apexi power FC. what is this? anything like a SAFC? also why is there ons for 93 FD's and then a different one for 96+ models is it obd related or bit related like 16 bit??
also how much do they usualy go for and what would be better the SAFC or power FC?
thanx for any help guys

SAFC (Super Air Fuel Controller) = piggy back computer, controls just Air and Fuel, cheap way to control simple air/fuel mixture. Not the best option for heavily modified rotaries.
Power FC = stand alone computer. Controls many other things then just Air and Fuel. Much more expensive, but a much better way to tune a rotary to its maximum potential.
Also, don't worry about the 96+ models since they weren't sold here in the US.

well i know what the SAFC and VAFC are.. i used the VAFC with upgraded injectors on my civic hatch when i went turbo., i used it to adjust the fuel in 1000 rpm increments. this was all before i went hondata and ditched the vafc ironically still just another piggy back lol..
but from what i understand the power FC actually replaces the complete ECU and has this cool little hand held keypad well?? thanx for answering my questions.. guys

this is in the car that i am purchasing this weekend. i am not familiar with any of it. should i ditch andgo power FC ?
* PFS PMC engine management computer
* PFS in-car keypad
* PFS dataset selector dial
* InterACQ data logging and tuning software for PC
* J&S Knock Sensor with dual display (Retard/Timing and Air/Fuel ratio)

Depending on how much you want to mod you car then the answer you're looking for is yes (ditch the stock ECU and get the Power FC). But, in order to get the most out of it like with any fuel management, it's best to tune it on the dyno, I'm sure you've experienced that with a Hondata. The Power FC does replace the stock ECU, the hand held is called the Power FC commander. The Power FC does not necessarily come with the commander, but you're better off having it since it allows you to tune it and monitor diffent things.

that sounds like a the "purple box". I'm not a Power FC expert, try posting on the Power FC forum, it's specifically for Power FC questions and things. Click down here....
