Hey Guys

I just recently purchased my frist seven. Its a 93. So I was wondering what was the best way to start modding her? Exhaust? Intake Path(Filter,BOV,IC PipeS) And is converting over to the single turbo system, the way to see the real big power? Thanks gys

 

well unless you have a good 15K laying around, a stock rx7 isnt going to see a single turbo anytime soon. aside form that, congrats on the purchase. let me say something that you will see millions of times and hear it from everyone, SEARCH. its a button on the top right. im not getting on you, just letting you know you will hear this. also when you SEARCH look for RELIABILTY MODS. oyu will see this, boost gauge, downpipe, etc.... this will give you an idea of what to do. this is not the same as a pist-on motor, more like a hot chick. if you treat her bad, she is through. congrats again, and read everything you can.

The most import thing to do is make sure your car is running great. Change the spark plugs, wires, oil, fuel filter, fluids and get a compression test. Change the oil every 1500 miles, spark plugs and fuel filter every 15,000 miles.

Then get a really good boost gauge. Your boost should be 10-8-10. A great reliability and performance mod is an SS downpipe. After this mod an intake will be great. There is this saying on this board about a 3 mod rule. At this point you would basically upgrade your ECU to make sure you don't blow your engine.

Yes reliability mods first.Please dont be that guy who gets a catback and goes straight to body kits.Im a few grand into my FD and Im still running around on stock rims.That and paint would be last on my list .

 

Definetely congrats to you. Sounds like you caught yourself a nice, new catch. Treat her good otherwise she might wake up ont he wrong side of bed 'if ya know what I mean'!

What model is she and color?

 

Its a Red 93 Base Model seven. I love her to death already.. By no means do I intend on going out..and just buying an exhaust then pit a kit on her. I want to mold her into a very nice performance machine. I have had my Eclipse GST for about 1 year and a half now and the only body mod I have done is the clear bumper lense, heh..still rollin on stocks. All I care about is performance.

I would say to go for reliability mods(radiator, dp, AST, etc...) first to keep your rx7 running good. Then after that you can get performance mods. You will need a healthy and reliable rx7 before doing many performance mods.
