new project: twin t-28's WHO makes a dual inlet IC??

I'm gonna jump headfirst into this project.

it's gonna be the following
Exhuast:
2 t-28 turbos from an rb26dett
2 matching dump pipes.
2 downpipe/midpipes runing parallel towards teh back
an apexi n1 dual with the y cut off and each midpipe bolted to each pipe for each canister directly.

the midpipe and downpipe i can do myself for under 100 bucks with mildsteel and will see how it all works out. if the project is successfull i'll redo it all in stainless.

Intaketurbo - IC)

I was thinking of a way to merge the 2 turbos, since the y-pipe would obviously be gone.

I was thinking of using a y-pipe much like the one the skyline uses but didnt feel like making something like that and then geting it to fit properly.

I wanted to find an IC with 2 Inlets and 1 outlet so each turbo would go directly into the IC and come out as 1, then follow standard rout to g-reddy elbow and so forth

does anyone now of such an IC?

i think apexi has the intercooler that you want i saw it in a older apexi catalog, i am sure spearco can make you one, or just buy a regular one and re-do the IC inlet tank.

no prob,

"I was thinking of using a y-pipe much like the one the skyline uses but didnt feel like making something like that and then geting it to fit properly."

you know fabricating the exhaust manifold is going to be a lot harder right?

i was gonna buy a manifold for a single and just cut the piping before it merges and extend them out until ther turbos both fit so i dont have to do any flangework on the engine side

I think you are getting into a lot more than you think with this project. You shouldn't keep the exhaust seperated like that; either Y the exhaust together or put some sort of crossover tube or X-pipe type thing in there to balance it out. And that's not to mention how bad it will sound if you keep the exhaust seperated.

Are you saying that having a runner go from one of the exhaust ports to the turbo on each will sound bad?

No, I'm saying keeping the exhaust completely separate after the turbos will do that.

it's nothing mroe than running 2 singles in parallel. uness you mean that the noise would be bad because you'd hear the pulse from each individual rotor through it's own runner inseatd of the coinjuction of both rotor's exhaust frequencies mixed together. maybe i 'll y-them to a 4 inch or make a skinny x-pipe in the midpipe section

On a side note.

I am unsure as to the validity of this, but I've read on several forums that the ceramic turbine blades in the RB26DETT turbos will tend to break at boost levels above 15psi. I hope this would not be a limiting factor on your target boost.

since i am on a stock motor with 89,000 miles i had planned on limitting boost at 13 or 14 psi.
