The new ride. Any comments are appreciated. Please try to keep the criticism constructive. I know the color is not everybodies favorite, but I like it. It does need some touching up though. Does anybody have a MD FD with Gold BBS LM's? I would like to see how that looks. I'm going on Tuesday to buy wheels...either the BBS's, Volk GT-C's or Advan TCII's. Any thoughts?

Yeah the spoiler just doesn't look right on the car, sell it and use the cash for some mods!

Thumbs up

Congrats on the car.
If you haven't yet, be sure to read through the stickys and check your car for the standard reliability mods.
No criticism, but if I had a comment.... go slow with any performance mods for the first year or so. Just do maintanance, reliability stuff and enjoy the car. Read and learn here.

Thanks for the input all. The spoiler stays though. Check out the link below, that's what i'm trying to achieve. The reason it looks like a viper spoiler is because that is what it is supposed to look like. It's the Top Fuel spoiler that I bought while I was in Japan. It's actually one of the reasons I decided to go FD. Still no one with gold BBS's on a MB FD?

It's funny how everyone in the thread wants a top fuel spoiler but I can guarantee you if it's made people will pull out.

IMO the spoiler ruins the lines of the car but its your car. Congrats on the purchase

You need the whole car to be aggressive to match the top fuel wing with fat wheels/tires.

I think you should buy Work Meister S1 3 piece wheels.

Nice and clean... but ya, the spoiler looks like a hemorrhoid on the otherwise baby-smooth bottom of your car.

haha... x2.

a week after I got mine, I started ripping it apart for a single turbo build + suporting mods. what a mistake. it was running fine, I should have just driven it and stockpiled parts for next winter.

if I were to do it again, I would drive it for at least a year first.

Jason,
What up. I am glad to see you finally picked up an FD and were able to put the wing to use. I can understand how some people dont like the wing at the moment but I think it has plenty of potential once you start modding the car with wheels, susp, and possibly some body mods. Once again congrats and feel free to hit me up if you need anything.

I've been through the first 110 or so pages of the pics and didn't see any gold BBS's on a MB. But I probably passed it up somewhere. I did see a MB with gold Volks and I think I made up my mind that gold just doesn't look right on the MB's.

Tom,

I've got a great picture in my head, but money (or lack there of) puts a damper on doing all of the mods right now. It'll get there eventually though. How's Japan? I already miss it. Especially the GTR. The RX7 is cool and all, but the R33 was all done how I wanted it. Eventually the FD will be there too, I guess. Let me know if you find/have any rare parts. I'm always looking for something cool nobody else has. Take it easy.

Wow after reading all those top fuel wing threads, it's hilarious that the first thing we all said when you finally got it + an fd was REMOVE IT!

I don't see what the hype is at all about it. Nice purchase tho, the color is beautiful and the gold rims will look GREAT. Best rim and paint combo for an FD imo.
