the dealer did replace all four tires for me, the tires on the car were the factory tires.

I just did a downpipe to replace the precat, a boost gauge, and an aluminum ast. The downpipe is a given. And replace all your fluids, especially coolant, often. Other than regular maintenance, thats about it for me. Read this entire site, also, and then resist the urge to mod.
Since I paid 18K for a 94 R2 red with 34K on it back in August, the price paid for this car makes me smile...
Mine was stock too. make sure the recalls were done (properly). My brake hose recall was not done right (they left the old check valve in and just added the new one by the brake booster).
Get a boost, water temp gauge.
Change the fluids.

Nice looking car. My advice:
1. Drive it very easy until you get used to it. We see a lot of new owners crash these cars shortly after buying them because they have no idea what the car is capable of.
2. Read a lot before doing ANYTHING to your car. There is an abundance of bad advice available here. Don't fall victim to the recommendations of some poser.
3. Have fun. You have purchased a great car. Enjoy!!!
4. Repeat #3 on a regular basis

check out Sahara Autos down in San Diego, good people, and they seems to restock their 7s quickly, last month they had a r1 and r2 then they had this r2 i picked up... they still have 5 touring models... it's a nice little dealership they cater to the import lover.
Have Mazda Dealer do all your maint/repairs
NOT!
Got some of you didn't I? Actually the Mazda dealer is about the worst place to take it. For these cars the dealer is about as dumb as a bag of hammers!
I love saying that

didn't buy it from Ebay btw i guess i should have said that :P i bought it in person from Sahara, paid 23 out the door. not much less but still
they had me go ahead and "buy it now" on ebay so they didn't have to close the auction and they wanted the positive feedback as did I.
took the car for a very slow curse on hwy 39, fun road not sure if anyone from so cali is familiar with it.
really enjoying it
