new dp?

I know i can pic up a cheap dp and mp off of ebay for like $150 it may not be the best but it works, i dont have very much money right now and dont have a pfc. if i put the find a cheap dp and install it will i be safe from boost creep/spike?
and will it help with a clogged dp. or will the cat just be clogged still?
does anyone have a pfc/commander and dp they wanna sell?

Buy a dp in the classified on here. They're used, but probably better quality being used than a brand new ebay one. Don't buy a midpipe until you get supporting mods, even if you have a PFC. This can include restrictor plates, hi flow cats or porting your wastegates. I myself would rather have upgraded pump and inj just to make sure if spiking occurs, I will not be starving of fuel. Don't be stupid and tell us about how you blew your motor. Search the forum, and trust the elders. They don't lie.

P.S. Put on a dp, and midpipe right now without a PFC or supporting mods, and I'll see you on the forum later about a rebuild.

You can install a dp, but keep the stock main cat on there. If yours is clogged, try and buy a low mileage good one from someone local.

Might sound weird, but check your intercooler pipes on the hotside. If you have a lot of mileage on them, replace them with some silicone ones. Those start leaking later, and don't hold boost well. I'm not sure about creeping though. You wouldn't know what your air and water temps do you?

Question from reading this...on a stock ECU, if you have an upgraded fuel pump and spiking, up to say, 14psi(just a number), occurs, will you be starving the engine?

^ I think yes. Mainly because (as I understand it) the stock ECU does not have mapping for 13+ psi. So you will get a fuel cut and all that lovelyness..
