New Clutch - Extreme Heat?

I just got a new clutch put in my car today, took it to a tranny shop. Its a ACT street/strip....

Anyway, I was breaking it in today, putting a few miles on it around town and I noticed that the center console between the seats was getting pretty damn hot. I know it got warm before I got the new clutch, but this would be considered hot and not warm.

Anyone know what type of insulation, if any, should be near the shifter to protect heat from the exhaust and the transmission? I am not sure if it should get this hot, considering the 3 switches in the center are also getting pretty warm.....

Anything info will help. Thanks

I'm not sure if its the same but on my TII it has like three rubber boots that fit tightly over the shifter and is bolted down to the body to keep the heat out. The shop might not have put back the boost properly and the heat might be going pass the boots. The boots for the TII were dam expensive, so i can only imagine how much the fds cost.
