Hey guys so I did some research and found out some of the newer gaskets that I need are metal now. Just wondering if anyone has had issues with them or not.
Recently my 1993 RX7 RHD started leaking oil and it would smoke thru the engine bay from it burning and I need to replace some stuff. Found out it was coming from the feed line. Stuff started crumbling from sitting so long. So I have to replace some stuff.
The car is 100% stock and besides the down pipe and the exhaust I plan on keeping it that way.
Oil feed lines to turbos and gaskets
Down pipe gasket ( swapping the stock out for the HKS with the kink )
Turbo to stud and nut ( broke and need to replace )
3x Turbo outlet gaskets
Vacuum check valve ( crumbled to pieces while taking it all apart and Im not to sure if this is the correct name for it. Tried researching it a bit. )
Driver right outer tie rod end
Im still new to the whole car stuff but im getting around decently. Im just having a little trouble finding the correct part numbers so I get the correct stuff the 1st time.
I found the stud and nut ( JE10-40355 and NF01-13-708A)
Driver right outer tie rod end ( Autozone I believe had it pretty cheap Part Number: ES3251)
Oil Feed Line ( N3A1-14-270A found on Atkins but I cant find the gaskets for it )
3x Turbo outlet gaskets ( I see 2x models N3A1-14-293 and N3A2-14-293 how do I know which one to use? )
Vacuum Check Valve ( cant find much info on it but I will attach a pic soon )
Lastly the HKS downpipe didnt come with any gaskets ( Which gaskets should I get, Id rather have new gaskets since its alot of work getting this going )
If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. I have searched thru the forum which is how I got some of the part numbers.
Thank you and pardon my little knowledge.
Ray is the MAN on RX-7 parts. You don't have to know the exact part number or anything, he knows these cars backwards and forwards and will get you the right part for a fair price.
There's a thread on the downpipe studs and nuts floating around, there are aftermarket alternatives to the Mazda parts that are cheaper/better.
That line with the weird nipple broke
Thanks guys, I emailed him and hopefully I explained the correct gaskets to him.
I also got your message and I'll let you know. It might not be a vacuum check line and rather some type of little filter from what I read. I'll try to get a better pic.
Justin,
That is the top oil line that feeds both turbos. There are separate oil drain line from each turbo to the engine block underneath or opposite that line. The easiest way to search for parts is to simply download the parts catalog from the internet, it is easily searched, and then just look everything up. Either use Ray, that Mazda parts guy, that everyone talks about on the site for your parts or search online Mazda dealers for their price. Never pay full price. I always get at least 30% off list. Definitely use Dale's check valves rather than stock. I have used them for years and the work perfectly with no failures.
Mike
Welcome to the FD Family Justin! One thing that I remember from my early days with my first FD. The factory intercooler is prone to cracking around the pinch seams. The plastic end tanks simply fatigue with constant change in pressurization and exposure to heat. Straight up materiel fatigue. It's not a problem but if you're aware of it and notice a drop in boost pressure or performance that is a very easy thing to check and just as simple to replace.

yea. I once my fiance's Visa stuff is done I'll be getting some more reliable swaps.
in the meantime. The care only has like 46k on it and everythingelse seems fine for the time being.
even got to take her out.
