Need some advice, going to be doing some modding

First of all my car is a 93 CYM with a new factory mazda motor in it with about 15k miles on it. I have the HKS intake, apex exhaust, efini y pipe and an HKS SSQ BOV.

I have a PFC and a bonez downpipe sitting in my room ready to be installed and tomorrow I have defi boost, exhaust temp, and oil temp gauges arriving at my house. Also arriving tomorrow I have a greddy standard mount intercooler, fluidyne race radiator, and the PFC datalogit to tune it with.

So my question is, what should be the order I install all this stuff? Im going to be doing the installs of the intercooler and radiator and pfc myself. The pfc Im a little leary of cause I dont like clipping wires... Ive done some searching about the pfc and havent really came up with a definate answer on which wires i should clip to keep the a/c running properly and such. Also are there any other mods you guys would reccomend while Im doing all this stuff?

Thanks in advance for the help.

First off, be sure you can have the PFC tuned by someone who knows what they're doing. It would be a shame to ruin such a new engine by making a tuning mistake. If you don't trust yourself with the install, have them install that also. If you're wanting to learn to tune the car yourself someday, I would recommend buying a wideband O2 sensor. Many people install their O2 sensor in the downpipe, so you might want to take care of that before installing it.

Because you've already got intake and exhaust, I would be be a little wary of installing the downpipe and intercooler without having the car tuned ASAP.

I'd say install the gauges first, then the radiator. Drive the car for a few days, get a feel for how everything works, and troubleshoot any problems that might pop up.

Then install the downpipe, which can be a PITA. Drive the car gently for another couple of days, and be sure you don't have any overboosting problems or exhaust leaks. The intercooler should be easy to install, I'd pop it on the day before you have the PFC tuned.

Good luck, and make sure you've got good tires and brakes to keep all that power under control.

yes good tires are a must at this point. i have similar moddificaton done to my car. with all that done you might find yourself needing a clutch. so like he said take it in spirts and one thing at a time. It is a ton easier to find any problems that might come up.

Thats a perfect idea... I was going to get the gauges installed first anyways and as far as getting the downpipe installed, should I not worry about those 2 days that I drive it around with out getting the PFC installed? Cause Ive heard that with intake, exhaust and a downpipe you should have an upgraded ecu.

You'll be fine if you watch your boost gauge. If the boost never goes above 11, and doesn't tend to spike, there's very little to worry about. If the boost does seem to go too high, remove the pill from the wastegate line until you get the PFC installed.
