I have talked to a lot of people about the removal of the gauge cluster, and they all say its a PITA!! So if you got some real patience then go for it. Sorry i couldn't help you with any tips.

its not that bad, theres one screw that holds the gauge cluster in under the cig lighter, i think thats it, the rest is held on by clips. take off the steering column covers (3-4 screws on the bottom) first and then pull the entire gauge cluster assembly straight horizontally towards yourself. then when you have that whole thing out of the way, you can unscrew the two hidden screws that hold the left side of the upper console in place, next to the heater controls. all of the small indented number labels on the heater controls come off with the control unit from the back, and the ***** come off from the front. everything on the gauge cluster assembly unscrews from the back too, except for the green turn signal lenses. you can pry those off very carefully and then reattatch them with a good epoxy.

hope this helps.

are you covering the whole thing in carbon fiber film? post pics of the work!

Thanks.. I tried what you have stated.. But still not coming out.. I don't want to put too much pressure..

Yeh,... I am trying to CF film the thing.. I will post some pics.. but I think its going to be difficult.. I have an CF look alike dash kit.. but its not that great.. So, I rather just try to do it..

I will try again.. If you could take some pics of the parts or screws I would appreciated!

That's a tight job on the CF tape. Looks pretty smooth in the pics. I've seen so many stick on kits that look like crap...yours looks like it could be real Props for the good job.

I would like to see Johnny's work.. I have gotten few emails regarding to this job.. but I told everyone that I will not take on the job unless I get it done right.. Obviously this one took me awhile.. What I do is, I chemically remove the old paint.. It takes about an hour just removing the paint..Once old paint is removed, the surface of the parts are nice and clean and shiny!! then it takes an hour or two putting it on.. Bigger the piece harder it gets.. And more likely to make mistake.. and once you make a mistake its about 10-15 dollars.. I think its harder than normal.. Also, this material is slightly thicker than other cheap CF films I used before.. Duration is 3+ outdoor guaranteed.. Adhesive is also permanent with removal with heat..

If Johnny could do this with easy and better, I would recommend him to do so..
