Need a quick answer (clutch/transmission).

I called the transmission shop that's doing my clutch work and the mechanic I talked to said that the clip holding the release bearing, wouldn't hold it? Anybody know what that's about, what could cause it, or what else I'm going to buy?

They are probably talking about the Relase Fork Assembly which holds the release bearings in place (from what I remember). I dont' see WHY it wouldn't hold... what kind of transmission work are they doing? Who's doing it?

Sounds to me that they might have broke something...

Turns out it was the wedge collar and ring that they needed. Just gave Ray a call and he's overnighting the parts down to me.

I didn't think the release bearings were held on by the wedge collar? .. but I stand corrected.

I knew it was attached to the pressure plate, but not the release bearing. Learn something new each day!
