You will not, there is not enough room because you will be hitting against the driver's side headlight. Here are some pics of mine, not totally installed yet though

I'll take some pics of my battery relocation later and post them up. I think it looks really good and it is vented to the outside. I might work on the venting more depending on if it meets race regulations or not.

If you have a touring, you might want to think about relocating a smaller battery in the space on the passenger side air intake. I thought about it but liked the idea of balancing the weight of the M2 large with a battery in the trunk. So mine is bolted to the trunk floor. It's a BMW R1000 dry cell battery. Still starts up like a champ: been 2 years now.

The battery will *not* fit under the hood, regardless of size, unless you're talking about a AA battery
Mine's in the back hatch near the sway bar. Make sure you use high quality thick gauge cable when you run it through the passenger compartment; my stereo system has never been the same since the switch...
Check the pic in my sig.

N-Tech BMK?
In that first pic from ttpowerd, it looks like there *might* be enough room for the N-Tech BMK (Battery Miniaturization Kit). I have been using mine for almost 4 years now...but I have the ASP Medium IC, not the large one.
I believe the N-Tech info says it will fit with a large IC, however.

I have some pics at:

Good luck with the project!
