Need New Engine

OK guys heres the story.

I bought a car from a kid in Texas and he told me the turbos were out on the car. So I asked what happened. He said that one day he was driving around and all of a sudden no boost. So he shut the car off and towed it home. I asked if anything was wrong with the engine and he said no. He said he had the engine and turbos rebuilt about 20 K ago. He then said that he had a compression test and both rotors were good.

So I bought the car and planned on putting a single turbo on it. So I got the car put a XS single on it PFC, fuel pump, 1300cc injectors, AVC-R, and a lot of other goodies. Then I was ready to go I did a fast compression test and it only had about 20 psi in the rear rotor. So I read on the internet that if a car has sat for a while the seals might have relaxed so I did the ATF trick and nothing. So I did a compression test on the front rotor and it had about 90 psi. So I spoke to a guy at Rotary Performance and he said that the seals are gone. So he said to buy a new engine through the Mazda dealer.

But do you guys know another place to buy a new engine what might be cheaper. The Mazda dealer can get me one for about $2200 . Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd sue the kid you bought it from for mis representation of his vehicle...he lied and is against the lemon law

You would also need to prove mis-representation. Not unless he actually provided to you something in writing....that states the fact. Also, your purchased it in another state...

www.aktkinsrotary.com for a rebuild, but I believe they just take your old one as a core, and give you one they already built, not sure.
www.rotaryengine.com for a rebuild

For a reman, Malloy Mazda like someone said would probably be the cheapest.
