The reving to 3500 is not related to the anti theft system. Maybe it's your accelerated warm up system. Does it still rev high if you start it in gear with the clutch depressed?

Sniffle7,

Have you checked your throttle cable to make sure it has no sticky spots? Are all your vacuum lines (that you can see) connected properly? Does the engine rev high only when the car is cold, or even if it is warm? Have you checked the 10-amp Room Fuse? It feeds the audio system and also the PCME... only common thing I could find between your radio install and the engine control system.

Sniffle, can't see what your model is, but look at your cruise control cable if you have cruise. Follow it all the way around the throttle actuator, make sure it isn't holding things open. Even try disconnecting it to be sure. That was my problem...

Did you unhook your battery while you did the stereo swap ? ? ? If not who knows what could have happened. Try unhooking the negative lead hold the brake for 10 or so seconds to reset the ECU and see if it straightens out. Jack

go to the I think (stereo/interior section) as they have a stiky with information on the bose amps and what you need to use the bose system with an aftermarket head without running new wirring and speakers. Glad it was as simple as the throttle cable. Jack
