Question Can't get aftermarket or stock stereo to play sound

Bought the harness adapter so I could use my aftermarket head unit, and when I plugged it up I get zero sound. Tried the stock unit and I can get a "beep" from the top center speaker when im setting a radio station but that's about it. I have a touring but all the bose system was pulled out of the car. Anyone ever run into this problem?

wires may have gone bad. my passenger side gets no sound at all. take it to a local car audio store and have them look at it. tell them to trace the wires from the head unit out.

Or, if the systems is amplified, it is probably the amp-remote lead. make sure it is hooked up. I believe the factory systems in FD's are a Bose amplified system.

i had this problem with mine. I had no power to the stock radio and wheni plugged in the aftermarket radio, i got power to it, but no sound. What we ended up doing was, we called an audio shop and consulted them, we had to run a wire from the radio relay from under the hood to the blue wire in the radio wire harness. This there for turned on the amps i guess to amplify the system so that i can get sound. I also had to buy one of these also to make my after market radio work with the stock amplified system.

you shouldn't have to go into the engine compartment to get to the radio relay. You mentioned the Bose system was yanked out (possibly butchered wires) ....so this information may or may not help. I have the bose system and used this same information to make mine work with the aftermarket head unit.

I'm still not too sure. Even if you have the bose system (the wave setup) removed, you still can use the 142C4MA02 Scosche OEM Amplifier Adapter?
