Need Help! Two problems!

I have a 93 FD, everything is stock unless a 2inch exhaust all the way through... my problems are:

1 - It struggles to get into 1st gear while your rolling... it slips right in when your at a complete stop.

2 - My FD blow white smoke when its cold. When it heats up, the while smokes stops...
What's causing it? What do I need to do to prevent this?

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

#1 is called manual transmission.. it's not supposed to go into 1st gear when the car's rolling... period..

#2 white smoke.. it's called condensation, if you wanna fix it, warm the car up..

Is this your first time driving? Those sound like regular symptoms on any car

The tranny doesn't like to engage usually at anything over 5mph if you are trying to drop into 1st gear, so don't force it. Either try to rev match, or just don't do it. 1st is just to get the car rolling or for a snap neck take off, 2nd gear is fine once the car is in motion.

Or just slam on your brakes, come to a stop and get it into first and take off like a bat out of hell

+1, normal for trans, not supposed to hit first unless stopped.

Yeah, sounds like condensation in exhaust, this is normal. Worst case scenario is a little coolant leaking into rotor housing and burning off when you crank it. But since you said only happens when cold, this doesn't sound like your problem.
