Need help with spots on car after being covered

Hey guys/gals,
I need some help with these spots on my 99 fd. The car has been covered and when I removed the cover the car had these spots on it. The car didn't look this way when covered. I was trying to see if anyone knows what to use or a way to remove the spots in the paint. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Was the car cover fabric? If so, condensation on a concrete ceiling above could have dripped down and penetrated the cover. That type of dripping can eat into the paint and discolor it. I remember having that, but it was a LONG time (50+ years?) ago and I can't remember what I might have done about it.

Also, condensation under a non-breathing car cover can do similar things - having moisture present for a long time can degrade and whiten the paint. That was noted back in the day as being a bad thing about running a "bra" to prevent chipping and not removing and drying it often.

the cover was water proof on the out side and a soft material inside. I had someone recommend mckees xtreme water spot remover gel so I'm hoping that helps. Do you have any other suggestions or ideas that might help? Thanks

See if you can pick it off with your nail then try some clay bar?

Hopefully, that will help. In my experience, however, I could never remove it all since it was not only at the surface and had actually penetrated into the paint. I never did hear of a process that would eliminate it entirely w/o repainting. Good luck. Maybe your experience will be better than mine, especially since paint has improved greatly since I had these issues..

Use a small amount of polishing compound on a microfiber towel or polishing pad and see if you can clean one of the smaller spots. This will give you an idea how deep the stain has penetrated into the clear coat.

You might need a very abrasive polish in those places, otherwise paint correction

Spoiler

Firstly, try washing the car with a mild detergent and warm water to see if the spots come off. If they persist, you may need to use a specialized automotive cleaner or polish to gently buff them out. Make sure to follow the product instructions carefully and test it on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it won't damage the paint. If you're unsure or the spots are stubborn, consulting a professional detailer or auto body shop for advice and assistance may be your best bet.
