NEED HELP:car hard to start when hot



just rebuilt engine. The engine has good compression 120 front 115 rear. The engine has trouble starting after been drivin, when its hot. when it is cool it has no problem starting. did all the vacuum job. turbo boost, in good pattern 10-8-10. car has intake n exhaust put in. i need some advice for this problem.

You might check the FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator) Solenoid.

FPR solenoid is the last one in the rat's nest, closest to the firewall.

I hook up the fuel pressure gauge at i idle reading 35 psi , cut the car off and restart it reading 42 psi and ckeck the fuel temp. sensor resistant it fine and the solenoild is ok too

I had the same problem then i decided to change my fuel filter and problem was fixed, well at least for me, are your plugs in pretty good shape?

how many miles do you have on the rebuild? mine was doing that too (although not real bad), but it eventually went away as my milage increased and the seals set.

Have you checked the fuel pressure regulator itself?

Try starting the car (when it's hot) with holding the gas pedal to the floor. See if it starts a lot easier -- make sure to let off the gas quickly when it starts. If it does start a lot easier, definitely investigate the FPR.

I have my engine rebuilt and I have exactly the same problem , but I guess its getting better .
