Need Help! Boost Leak??

installed a PFC last night, everything ran great for 50miles, and then on the way home from a friends house, i hear this hi-pitch noise instead of the stock blowoff sound.

basically anytime i get into boost i hear this hi-pitch noise like air is leaking from somewhere, any suggestions of where to look/what to do?

is it the hoses? or the stock "blow-off".

Check all of your hose couplings, especially the ones on the Y-pipe crossover tube coming off of the turbos.

That is quite unfortunite; remove the piping going into the front and rear turbos and check the rotating resistance. You're probably going to find that one of the bearings failed, they generally will cause a high-pitched whistle under boost, and your boost will take longer to build.

its not the y-pipe. i got the 99spec... checked the intercooler lines.. no slits in them...

will check the bearings... hopefully its not that... if it is the bearing, what should i do??

thanks for the advice, any other causes for a high pitch whistling noise??? so i can take a look at all of them in one swoop.

A loose bolted connection like the front and rear turbo pipes will sing like a reed and make shrieking noises too.

So check the y-pipe and adjacent piping for loose connections.

takes guys! found it! it was a gap in the turbo piping.

another problem i ran into is... that my TB ELBOW (stock) is missing a bolt.... on the bottom left. think it will compromise the seal to the TB much?? it seems that the bolt sticking out of the TB was snapped, and theres only a stub sticking out...

anyone know how i can replace that bolt that sits inside the TB, (tools/procedure/etc).

thanks for all the help!

Actually, that is a nut that goes on a stud. Just put another nut on there.
