There are benefits and some downfalls of running non sequential. Check out these threads:

well, for the 14k,
motor rebuild w/porting 3500.00 (IF you do not need new housings and upgraded seals
single turbo kit = 3500~
fuel pump = 240~
injectors, rail, & **** = 500-1000~
ecu/stand-alone PFC/haltec = 1300-2500~
intercooler upgrade = 1500~
piping for intercooler = 100-200 if applicable
labor/installation and tuning = 2000+
motor mount (rear) = 225
fuel damper = 125~
are you gonna need a clutch & flywheel? yep 1000~
BOV = 200
radiator upgrade to make up for fmic? 400~
you see where this adds up so quickly.
i started thinking that a rebuild would be sufficient, but chose to do some other things while the car was apart, and the bill quickly went from 5500 >>> 9775.00
trust me, you'll be upside down whether or not you like it. i think that anyone else out there who has had to make a decision like yours will concur with me on this.
i find that the $$ i spend on my FD makes me happy, more than anything. so.... i am upside down..it is my hobby and my passion....and now i have 25K sunk into the car.....who needs a woman to **** you over.......when you have an rx7

XS T04e turbo kit from group buy, about $2800,
GReddy SMIC 400+ci used - $800, Evans coolant instead of radiator upgrade. Used 1600cc injectors $600,
getting my AEM EMS ecu on a group buy. Piping for IC came with the GReddy SMIC. BOV came with the T04e kit. Did not upgrade my flywheel and already had a Centerforce clutch upgrade. My motor rebuild with street porting and Hurley seals and upgraded coolant seals cost me about $2,500.
Nothing wrong in my book to save a few dollars going with group buys and used parts.

If you want to hear opinions on apexi pfc and the aem look here: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=75618
not a bad discussion but as you can see, most prefer apexi's unit.

B. around $5500 give or take some
C. $2500 at most
D. -hahah- prob 9-10 grand
Even though, most of you voted for going streetport rebuild with single turbo .... i don't have the cash for that. It'd mean hitting up the bank for a loan and i'm not sure they'd give that much for me to indulge in my need for speed. -hehe- Be nice if they would.

Hey man, here is what I would do if you dont want to break the bank.
Get a motor from someone, I like BNRsupercars.com but you can check with who ever. Get a motor for around 3K with 2mm hurley seals and a streetport.
Get some rebuilt twins from Brian at BNR for less than $800. He replaces everything in his turbos not just the worn items like most places do and since he's a small company his prices are still really good.
$3800 for a bad *** motor with the stock twins. Set them up nonseq cause it'll be easier on the install and more reliable. Brian will do the nonseq weld work on the twins pretty cheap, I think it adds like $100 or less. So there ya go $3900 plus labor if you cant do it for a rock solid awsome set up.
Sounds like a plan to me lol
Oh yea, dont go Jspec, there isnt a real difference and most of the motors that come over here from Japan are total crap and need rebuild......reguardless of what they tell you. The majority of them have been sitting outside in a junkyard for years. In my opinion its a total gimick that people get cought up in so they can have a "JSpec" motor. I've seen 3 myself and have talked to others that have seen them as well and everyone basically had the same opinion. You'll pay for the JSpec motor then pay to rebuild it.
Later,
STEPHEN
