need advice on 95R2

I have been offered $30,000 for my 95 R2... the guy said he will fly in and pick it up this weekend... do you think I should do it or hold out.... I was wanting closer to $32 for it do you think I can get it? the R2 is in freakin awsome shape ... inside looks and smells new, original motor and turbos... all miles original at 20,000+ ....no problems with the car it runs perfect and pulls between 19 - 20 vac at idle... no smoke..no wrecks and I do not ever drive it in the rain...built by pettit ... it is a very solid car probably the last of the 95 R2s in this condition...what do you think?

Nice car! My opinion, if you are serious about selling , dont hold out over a measly $2k. From a business standpoint, get it unloaded as fast as possible.

yeah, you are probably right... I was not ever planning on selling ... but stuff happens and things right now are going on that may lead me away from the rx7 for a bit but I shall return...I just wish I had this sitting here waiting on me ...

^^ How long have you been trying to sell it, and how motivated are you? It's up to you if you're willing to wait for the additional $2000. By my calculations, $2000 is about 6% of 32k. On the other hand, if know for sure that he'll pay $32k if you hold out for a month, you've just earned $2k for doing very little work.

On that note, if you really plan on getting back in an FD, you probably want to hang onto it. You know you'll probably never find another one like yours. Im also in a situation where I really should sell my FD looking at it like a responible adult, but I spent a long time searching for exactly what I wanted , and know I would be hard pressed to find another later down the road, so I have decided to keep it and make sacrifices elsewhere.

That car is just stunning!! I sucks you have to sell it. I would go ahead and take the $30,000. Who knows how long til you get that kind of offer again. Esp. if you are in need of money. Or it has to be sold ASAP.

Man, your car is amazing! I'm sure you have solid reasons for selling it, but damn I really don't think you'll find another one as clean as yours ever again. Beautiful machine .

well I have not been really trying to sell it... I really hate to see it go...for the last week and a half I have been feeling out my options...but now I think I am as ready as I can be, I just don't want to screw myself out of money that should be mine, but I have to remember here... it is a 12 year old car, even though it is in new conditon...but the way I look at it too is that the combination of a 95 silver R2 (1of 16)is almost impossible to find specially in this shape...you want to play , you have to pay...

If you want to sell it and the buyer is serious, I would jump at $30k. It is well above market value. And yes, I know, everybody thinks their FD is worth $20k+, $25k+, $30k+ but they are not.

Look at the time it took Fritz to sell a pristine car with 24k miles for $17k:

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...8&page=1&pp=15

Is your car worth $15k more?

If you listed it on Autotrader or on this board, after many months of fighting with 'lowballers' you would probably get $20k or so for it.

Thumbs up

Wow that is a very clean 95R2. I would hold out and try to get that extra 2K, the car is definately worth it. What modifications and what rims are on the car?

Beautiful car man. I'd sell a kidney before selling that thing!

I know how things come up out of nowhere, though... Good luck!

If you need the $ do not negotiate over a couple k. Values seem to be holding very well particularly as it relates to 94-95 R2's Do not expect double digit price increases or big jumps in the near term. Repair costs tend to be high and that keeps it from moving up quick.

Wow, beautiful 7! $30k sounds really hard to turn down, especially if you could use the money. At the same time, it's obviously gonna be tough to let it go. And even if you do plan on gettin another one, that's just another opportunity to create another amazing work of art. Sorry you have to make this decision. Hope all turns out well.

hey if it sells it does not put me out the love circle of the rx7.... believe me...I love them...it is not even gone yet and I feel like my wife has cheated on me...if money was not an issue and I can chose any 10 cars to have, I would still have to have an rx7 in the garage hands down...
