Need Advice...
Jacked up car today to have a look at the fuel filter before replaceing it [first time] owned it a year now and dont no when it was last changed, car has 83kilo.
let the car down after checkin out what i needed and started it up to make sure it was runnin fine before i started and so it wouldent flood after the short start, before i pulled the egi fuse.
Car was runnin for 2 mins then ,there was a small smell and vapour of fuel behind the uim and the car died.
Do you think this was because i jacked the car on the fuel pump side and with a quarter tank of gas,the fuel hadent settled due to the baffles?
But then why the smell and visual of fuel at the back of uim?
So i then rocked the car side to side and tryed to start again but no joy.
so while it was settleing i did the de flooding procedure.Plug have 600mils on them but had quiet a bit of carbon build up on them and of course were wet.
So cleaned them up etc and tryed to start again and nothing just wouldent catch.
Eventually the bat drained to much to keep trying and the starter is now fucked [ overheated] cos i dident give it anough time to cool down
Sounds like your starting it with the plugs out/no compression
any imput would be great

Replace your plugs, cleaning them often wont do anything for you. Buy new ones, before trying to start the car again find your fuel leak. Jacking hte car up should have no effect on a fuel leak in the engine bay. I would guess it is the FPD. Once again, do not start the engine until hte fuel leak is found and fixed.

You can foul plugs in less than 1 mile . Just listen to me and replace them The small mist of fuel sounds like the Fuel Pulsation Dampner is spitting fuel out the top. One of my cars is doing that at the moment. Malloy will send you one for around $116.00 shipped in the states.
Open the square diagnostic box that is mounted inside the engnie bay right above/behind the fuse box on the positive batter terminal. Take a piece of wire or paperclip and connect the two terminals that are GND(ground) and F/P(Fuel Pump). Turn your key to the on position(dont start the car) this will trigger the fuel pump and you can find your fuel leak without worrying about burning your car to the ground. The terminals are marked on the inside of the diagnostic cover.
