From what I'm reading here it appears the Apexi Dual will melt the black plastic attached to the bumper.

I was planning to go with the Apexi Dual but now I'm leary. Can anyone recommend another dual if there are others out there that are guaranteed not to cause melting?

Thanks,

t

Racing Beat dual tip fits perfectly. Leave the stock cat in if you want it quiet, high flow cat bumps it up a notch, and midpipe makes it even louder yet. I'm planning a high flow cat for mine this spring. Nice note when you get on it and slightly louder than stock "drone" at highway speeds. Very nice solution for those wanting the stock look with a nice note on WOT!

-It melted mine a little -say an inch worth. It's not a big deal. you can replace that part of the bumper seperately from what I understand.

-Personally I hate how it sounds. It's too high pitched/whinny/fart-canish for my taste. The greddy PE and SP have a much deeper/throatier sound to them IMO. Also every Apexi exhaust I've heard has a lot of highway drone.

Again, my motive for getting rid of mine wasn't the noise (I wanted a loud exhaust-it was a phase), but the sound quality.

Several of our club members here in Phoenix are running Peter Farrell's catback. If you're looking for a deep throaty sound you might consider this CB as well. One of the best flowing CBs on the market and you could probably pick one up used for a pretty decent price!

Indeed, I want to preserve the stock look and have somewhat of a sleeper approach.

Thanks for the input!

My N1 never melted my rear bumper. I had it installed even before I put on a RE Amemiya rear diffuser, and had no problems either way.

I'm selling it though, as tastes do change like CCarlisi said. Here's my ad: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=249502
