Here are some pics of my trunk mount battery using TurboJeff's SS tray.

I had to drill two new holes in the frame rail mounting flanges, & completely remove the cross brace mounting flange. But the PC925 fit nicely. The tray is mounted to 2 of the 3 rear bit studs.

I'm not sure how the carpet would interfere wtih the mounting, & I'm sure holes would have to be cut, but since I have the Bose carpet & no Bose hose I just have that sheet laying back there. Someday I'll get a larger sheet to simulate a hatch carpet...

looks good man. That last picture, i think it would be good if you had a 99 front lip or something. Looks kind of bold. But the battery relocation is well done.

 

 

I think it needs a battery box I've never liked the lok of bare metal (unpolished) inside of the interior of a car.

Nice location though. I bet it offsets the weight of the aftermarket piping, etc, better than the storage bin batterys.

Yes, the 99+ looks good, but I actually prefer the pouty openings vs: the Smiley openings. Personal preference.

The thing looks completely stock from every angle except the front. I don't even have a spoiler on it. I've surprised an '03 SVT that had intake & full exhaust (turned out to be a pretty cool guy), & I really pissed off a GSXR...

 

I know what you mean, but the best I'd be able to fab would be painted fiberglass. I guess I could use rubber washers to keep those long bolts & nuts from cracking the box.

That’s the infamous GT35/40 which according to the Garrett pdf is a GT37.

"Looks great " Thanks. It's still pretty much thrown together right now, but in a few months after I move I plan on WB Dyno'ing it & having it to the point where it will pass tech inspections. Then comes a paint job.

 

If I may make one suggestion: loose the stock radiator

I am debating now about turbos; rx6 b or gt35/40? *sigh* so many choices

Yea, I had my doubts & felt pretty overwhelmed. But once I got all of the parts it only took about 4 weeks to get it all back together!

The port work took quite a while, but I built the motor one Friday after work.

 

I haven't routed them yet as I'm still waiting for a fuse & holder. I plan on mounting the fuse close to the battery & drilling a hole through the access panel to the fuel tank & following the fuel rails up to the starter. I'll leave the existing wire from the starter to the engine compartment fuse block.

I will also use some sort of PVC conduit to pass through the panel.

 

I know summit has black batt. boxes to make them blend in w/ the rest of the car...

 

yeah, you'd better get a summit box or something, because an open battery like that would never pass any kind of serious tech inspection (for autocross, track, etc)
