Question My trans moved?

Ok so I was looking threw the 3rd gen specific 93-2002 and I happened to run into this trend https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/pic-how-much-oil-shifter-739429/ . So I decided to check out how much oil was in my shifter since a while ago I change my stock shifter and remembered that I dint see much oil in the shifter when I changed over to my BNM short shifter. So I took the center plastics off and notice that my trans has shifted over some mmm and remembered that that’s not how it was before. So it had to happened at A-sped after my Mazda reman engine install that A-spec did for me. So now I can even get into one of the bolts because it moved over some and now is tucked under the trans tunnel.

So my question is what caused this and is there anything I can do to get it back into place? The pics at the bottom are one of my pics of how much my trans moved over and the other is one of the forum member’s pic and this is how it should look.

Looks like the when they put they motor back in they didn't get the power plant frame (PPF) aligned correctly before they bolted it to the transmission and rear differential. Your transmission appears to sitting a little too far forward in addition to being off center.

Is there something I can do to get my PPF back and align in its place? Or does any one else think different?

i would think that motor position decides where the tranny lines up to. i'm curious what the problem is. maybe a bad motor mount.

raise the motor and reseat the mounts or maybe you can pull the subframe and seat the mounts. although the former method prolly wont work.

get under and look. it should be pretty obvious if anything is twisted/bend or out of place.

What way should I go about lifting the engine? What things should I do first and or what steps should I take?

seems like you dont have much experience working on cars I wouldn't try doing this as a first time thing. Just give it back to a-spec and im sure they will fix it. Most likely for free cuz its their install.

I do have experience working on piston engines I have pulled engines out and put bigger engines in and even rebuilt a couple and as for rotary’s I done so many thing to mine installing and removing but just never pulled the engine out Ivied pulled the trans out but just never done the engine. As for taking it back to A-spec I don’t know if they will believe me that that’s there work since ivied done so many thing to it since they had it last and its been like a year and a half and yes they did do a lot of crappie work when they did the install forgot to put things back where they wore and engine ran pretty bad but I token care of many of the bad really bad areas they left behind and since I didn’t know much about rotary’s they definitely took advantage and charge me for new parts when they actually used my old parts and as time passed Ivied notice and also I don’t know if they just decided to steal some of my pars or just forgot to install back in that ivied also notice over time are missing.

oh damn that sounds pretty bad. were you rushing them or something? and my bad about saying u might not have experience.

just look under the car and see if the motor mounts are seated in correctly. they are left and right on the oil pan make sure that the aluminum bracket sits around the outside of the mount and thats it.

I'd bet that if you loosen the PPF bolts you can create enough movement to get the shifter closer to center in the tunnel.

Broken motor mounts, diff mounts, or PPF can also cause things to move around. So inspect all of that when you're under there.

Basically, it looks like you need to align the driveline (as well as inspect your motor mounts).

There is a procedure in the FSM to align the driveline. I'm not sure of the page number here at work, but it should be too hard to locate in there.
