Lightbulb My project rx7

Hey guys, let me introduce my self, I'm new here, I'm finally starting my dream project which I've been saving for the past 2 years.

I drive an 05 G35 Coupe, I'm getting a totaled 93' 7 and rebuilding it completly.

I'm keeping my G35 for daily driving and I want my RX7 for weekends and drif/drag races.

Personal Exp. I don't know much about mechanics, I'm learning little by little from my brother who is going to be helping me rebuild this baby. He's rebuilt many cars but he's never focused in the performance subject.

I need some advices if to go twin or single turbo, also which turbo conversion is best? what perfomance parts work best together or any tips I can gather from whoever is willing to help.

My Budget: $30,000

Aiming for: My coworker drives a 93' R1 7 and is doing low 9s w/ out nos

I need to beat it or at least run head to head with him.

Thats all for now,

Thanks,

-exan

hehe, Do a search but to get you started

your going to need a stand alone fuel management system (ie haltech, power fc)
Upgraded fuel system
R85 Turbo or similar kit
front mount IC

it might be possible on a stock port but i would have Gothemracing Race port it for you

the list goes on and on

you can spend 30K real quick on this car

just some advice... read a lot before starting the project. mistakes can cost you your budget money in a hurry . plan your project out with advice from the RX7 experts like Pettit Racing and Tri point to name a few . there's a lot more do a search. But research before you start.

The FAQ is good starting material, but especially a few topics in the alphabetical list. This is all in the sticky thread that stays at the top of the list in this forum.

Good luck. What kind of accident was it in, and what will need replaced/straightened/etc?

Low 9s is VERY fast. If I followed the scene I could probably name only a few who have managed that. I assume you're not talking about a practical streetable car. Drag performance and an enjoyable street ride might be a major conflict when you get below 10.

is your co-worker's rx7 a daily driver... if it is, I doubt very much it does 9 seconds. Have you ever seen a time slip? or is it just .. "I run 9 seconds..BLAH BLAH BLAH" talk ??
