You really don't want a MB. It just drives me crazy. It looks awsome in a certain light (a nice shade of blue), at night it looks black, polished up it looks amazing, but ... sometimes I look at it and it's green. Maybe that's why I'm buying so many exterior pieces so that I have to change the color. In my mind if I have to get all these things painted anyways, there would be no better time to change the color. I'll figure that out when I get to it. For now I have a few projects to keep me occupied.

The weather out here is messed up. Like I was saying before, it snowed. I was supposed to go golfing on Friday but ... Not!

That's all I got for now. I guess I'll have to tackle the sub box. Too many curves.

Oh ya, the plastic paint I've been using is "Dupli-Color Bumper Coating". Almost a perfect match. I also used a plastic adhesion promoter to prep the pieces first.

how did you make that trunk cover? I'm trying to figure out how to do that exact thing with a hole for my battery box. did you just cut and test until it fit right or did you take exact measurements?

Question. What keeps the cover stable? Did you screw it into the amp box? Also, did you put any "legs" under it? I really like this idea. I may have to borrow it.

I didn't screw it down. It rests on the outside edges and I put weather stripping on the top edge of the box so it sits on there snug but won't rattle. I was thinking of put a couple of legs under it but it feels pretty stable. Not like I'm gonna sit back there or anything.

I have finally completed the trunk project. What a PIA! Too many curves for the sub boxes and cover. But hey, it's done and I think it turned out pretty good. I had some MDF laying around and the plywood was left over from when I did my dinning room flooring. The only thing I actually bought for this project was some staples and the vinyl. The vinyl was 50% off so it cost me all of $14 for 2 meters, which gave me more than enough to complete the job.

Sub Boxes (I was thinking about doing one big box but there are way too many curves to build around. Also, that mother would damn heavy and the only way to make it would be to build it in the car. That would be fun.):




Sub Cover (I made sure everything fit and made some brackets for the cover. Then with it out, I put the vinyl on. The top and front piece are actually all one piece now and can easily be removed by taking out the subs and 4 screws at the front. I also put dynamat between the sub boxes and the cover so it will seal better and help against vibrations.):





The reason for my particular design (I know there are so many other ways to get stereo equipment into this car and I probably could have made a cooler design if I utilized more of the space but my clubs gotta fit.):

That's all for now. I have a few little things planned but I think for now I'll just enjoy it being all together in one piece. She's running great and besides it's golf season.

I took a look at page 1 and then page 8. That is some serious dedication and it shows. This car looks better than 99.99% of the RHD cars I've viewed in Canada (mine included).

Dude, I've never seen such a slick sub/amp/box setup. The black vinyl and the way you tied it into the stock lines is beyond choice.

I think you're definitely going to want some heavy duty grills on those subs, though.
