Talking My New FD for $2,500

Hell I just went out and stopped by this ladies house that I saw with an FD sitting out front so I cruised in with my FC and asked her about it. She says it wont start and she sold it to me for $2,500.

I towed it home changed out the plugs, did a compression test good compression, charged the battery, flushed the radiator, changed the oil, put auto tranny fluid in her, drained the old gasoline and put in '93 octane Exxon fuel and cranked the motor around a few times by hand since it was sitting for 3 years, hit the ignition with a few sputters a few popps and 3 minutes of her bitching and one wollop of a Bang out the back she roared to life .

Swaped on my tags from my FC and took her for a spin around the neighbourhood. She layed some smoke for the convoy but after a few minutes then cleared up. I am putting insurance on her tomorrow and getting a tag for her. I bought myself what I thought was a blow up, fixer upper FD and to my surprise she runs strong.

The lady says she has a weird transmission, she says it is a Cosmo Auto Tranny is this BS or not or is she misinformed? Oh well I bought it for $2,500 so the hell if I am complaining about my FD for $2,500 becouse it is an Auto. Once in a lifetime deal no one would pass it up.

Pics comming tomorrow stay tuned. she will be abit dirty so look at her potential.

One question though, since this is my first Turbo car and FD for that matter it doesn't have a boost guage. Is that normal? Do I need to purchase a boost guage for it? It seems to run excellent so what is the FD owners expert advice and it is totaly stock. When you see the pics you will know what I mean. Any advice for a new FD owner please.

This may be the deal of the century!

As promised, post some pics and give us a few more details. What condition is the body, paint, and interior in? Did she give you a good, signed title?

Wow you scored. You could probably turn around and sell it for 10g easy. That's like 4x what you paid. Congrats

I swear I was just wondering about the car complete chance that it happen, that is all and when she said, I want to get rid of it or have it towed off I asked her how much for it, certantly expecting $7,000+ but when she said $2,500..... would you like cash or check for it mam?

Ok Boost Guage and Water Temp guage, going on the order list. Damn the Inter Cooler is smaller than a Turbo II's so that is on my list as well.

The Exterior is nice but the front lip is damaged looks like it was ran up on a curb or something, spoiler has cracks in it, passenger side mirror looks like it was side swiped by a white car, and has some rust damage from where it was keyed on the door. THat is about it. The colour is blue that montego blue that looks green from a distance then turns a shade blue as you near the car, with Tan leathur Interior. Driver side seat has a rip in it. Interior needs a good cleaning. Original Floor mats are torn to hell and back, glove compartment is stuck open and it want shut, but I can fix that. The door handle on the passenger side is busted off. that is about it.

She has a good clean title she has signed it so tomorrow she and I are going to notorize it. Pics are comming she will look good when she is compounded washed and waxed with some meguires 3 step I picked up today for her. Interior smells like cat **** though. I am renting a rug doctor to clean her out. She will be garaged with the '78 RX-7

Like I said guys it was all chance, no for sale sign no nothing I just got curious and asked her about it and man did I do this when I heard the price:

Thanks for all the great info guys she is in good hands just not with allstate.
For "neit_jnf" $3,000 for her man what a lucky break. I'll take it... Yea Right..

It seems unlikely, but it's possible I guess. I thought the only transmissions that correctly bolted to the PPF without mod were the FD auto and FD manual. Take a look under there and see if it fits up with the PPF - and if it matches the illustrations in the FSM.

Sounds like you got a smok'in deal buddy, now maybe you can sell the FC and get some mod $$$. I'm thinking some suspension and some wheels just to get you going......
