my near death experience...
i think the rear hatch glass broke when I was ejected through it. Yeah it was really hard to believe because I thought it was physically impossible for a 6'1" guy to fit through there...but closer examination shows that the back of the driver seat was deformed/bent.
Damn man.....glad you're okay! You could have VERY easily been a ******' statistic!
Cars can always be replaced, sons and daughters and moms and dads can't.
I also have to caution you that you may get into a world of **** with your insurance if you indeed don't have a stock steering wheel with airbag. The insurance companies have been notorious for denying certain claims in cases like this.

Wow dude, hope you aren't hurting...I was in a wreck in my beater 2 months ago and some idot hit me in the rear going about 45...I still am seeing the chairo and doing all sorts of fuked up exercizes to help reset my neck...Just hope you don't have any aftermath pains. You car definately looks repairable. Glad your ok
Reading this story is one thing, but living must have been another. I was driving yesterday sitting at some redlight. I then turn my head and look out the hatch. It dawned me that there is the seatbacks in the way and the rear strut tower brace. And then the windshield is there.
You must have been in some serious pain going through that window. When I really think about it, you really have been through an ordeal. Like I said before I'm very happy you are ok, but Amazed.

Glad to hear you're OK. The car looks repairable from the photos, but that's obviously your call. And I agree with those voicing concern about the non-stock steering wheel and insurance companies.
The drivers following you must've been freakin'...car smacks the wall a few times, driver gets ejected, driver picks himself up, dusts himself off, and drives car to side of road....like some scene from an action movie. You are definitely one lucky dewd...

Having just gone through this myself three weeks ago, it was eerie reading your story and reliving my own calamity. Very glad that you are okay relatively speaking. I thought that I was lucky...and I was. But you're luckier still. I don't know what you will do concerning the FD - cars come; cars go. But don't be surprised if you become more philosophically reflective about what's important and what's not as a result of this incident. I certainly did. Life, family, good friends and that gift that allows you to greet the dawn each morning is precious.

Regarding the insurance, I thought about putting back my stock wheel on there but then I didn't know how to trigger the airbag once it's on there so I just left it alone. I'm going with my personal health insurance instead of my car insurance for my medical because I don't want my insurance to go up any higher.

I'm debating between either a 540i or an E-class. No more sportscars for me.

Good to hear you're ok. Bummer about the ride, and it's a helluva story you'll have for the rest of your life. I heard about the wreck last week and was waiting for the other shoe to drop, so I'm glad to see that everything's ok.

Thank goodness you are okay. Car accidents are so scary. I hope you are feeling better now. I had an accident in my FD last week. It wasn't as bad as yours but it still scared me quite a bit. The insurance company has been great. Hopefully yours won't give you any trouble. Good luck finding a new car.
