Is my iron ready to go?

That seems excessive to me. I've stopped using hylomar completely, just vaseline on the o-rings and the older formula of The Right Stuff (still have half a case, woot) on the 'legs'. It probably wont affect anything but if I were you I'd skim the hylomar off the inner o-ring where the corner seals will make contact. Probably wont do anything but no point in having extra goop that you've got to burn off during initial start.

The extra amount will be burnt on initial start anyway I assume?
On Atkins's DVD, the guy puts a lot of Hylomar. On Mazdatrix's DVD, the guy puts close to none. Both are very different!

The excess hylomar will end up in the coolant system so you don't want to use too much. I do not like Vaseline as it tends to make orings swell. Put a thin coat of hylomar. Wait 5-10 minutes for it to get tacky, then install the orings. Also, you DO NOT want hylomar anywhere but where the orings make contact. The bottom left and right of the irons need a thin coating of silicone rtv to prevent oil splashing up from the oil pan from leaking. Hylomar will not seal out oil on its own without a gasket.

Word. To be honest the vaseline/engines I'm referring to get torn down after 20 hours and even then I just trim the swollen outter orings at a 45* angle and put a dab of superglue on them.
