n/a front iron, turbo front iron difference

I was wondering if the oil passage on a turbo block that leads to the turbo has a raised boss when compared to the non turbo block? I have almost all of the parts neccesary for a turbo conversion and was considering drilling and taping the front iron for a banjo bolt when I noticed that the oil line will not mount to the turbo and meet flush with the block, it seems to be raised about an inch above the plug on the front iron oil passage.
just curious.

no clue, what i did for a 6 port turbo setup, was use the oil pressure sender hole, i got a thread in fitting wtih a barb on the end to go to the turbo, using high pressure oil rated hose. U can find fititngs with a T so u can use the stock oil sender still as well.

thanks for the replys. i can imagine plenty of ways to hook it up but i was primarily wondering if the turbo front iron is different than the n/a front iron since my stock oil line wont fit. or if their is some other difference i am missing.

The non turbo front side housing I used had a PLUG staked in the same place the turbo feed banjo bolt goes.

Memory is a bit fuzzy, but what I did was drill thru the plug then tap threads to fit a bolt I had. That bolt was not a banjo bolt. I made it into a banjo bolt using a drill press, drill bits and a file. I'm ALMOST sure that the plug got fully drilled out and I tapped the hole in the housing where the plug was. That little project lingered for over two years before I finally decided to finish it. A little work here, a little work months later type thing til I never knew where I stood on completion.

That bolt and a washer is all it took ,plus I used the hard oil feed line from a turbo engine from the front side housing to the other side of the motor where the mating hard line from the turbo is.

This drilling of the plug was with the engine disassymbled.

Ask Aarron Cake if you need to know more. He has mentioned drilling that front side housing on a non turbo.

Ohhhhhhh. I did a SEARCH and came up with this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ighlight=drill

EDIT: After reading that thread above, it joggled my memory as to WHY I MADE a banjo bolt of my own. The stock one (from a turbo) was not long enough and I saw no reason I couldn't make one of my own if I put my mind to it.

I know nothing about series five. Maybe someone who does could say so. I'm not sure the search function will work for that.
