My fuel filter relocation.
My fuel filter relocation.
Here are a few photos of my own fuel filter relocation project. It's not much different than the others on this board, except for my securing method. I wasn't much of a fan using hose clamps here, and I didn't feel there was enough metal in the subframe to tap for bolts.
So, instead, I used pop rivets left over from my bumper bracket installation. It's up and out of the way enough for peace of mind. Mazda should have had it here in the first place.

After hours of cursing, getting sprayed by fuel, and working only by hand feel...I'm happy to say, that I'm happy it's over.

Heres some pics of of my relocation I completed today. Got the idea of the steel pop rivets from FDeez. Drilled 10 holes in the stock bracket and 10 holes in the rear subframe and installed the pop rivets and it is very secure. Sanded down the sharp edges of the subframe where the fuel lines touch.
Feels good to turn a 2-3 hour job into a 30 min job
