Check out a decent hardware store. I think Home Depot sells sheet aluminum but I'm not sure if the guage would be heavy enough.

First off, beautiful work and excellent craftsmanship. My question is why use the splitter plate? Most V-mount setups that I've seen just share the airflow with both the IC and rad. Any noticeable advantages or disadvantages to the splitter plate design? Also, I'd like detailed plans if your willing to share.

Thanks again!!

The splitter allows you to control how much of the air is being directed through the radiator vs IC. The HKS setup uses a splitter.

I went to home depot to find sheet aluminum like that before and they did not carry it. Kind of hard to believe.

Looks like you put a lot of time into this and I'm glad to see that you did incorporate a splitter - it definitely makes a difference especially if the rest of the ducting is done well. Good job.

Man, that's some hell for stout fabrication! Is that 1/8" plate and 1/4" wall tubing? Nice.

you pick up, or order metal at any heating&air (hvac) outlet. they use it to make ducts and plenums and pans and other things of that nature. or if your in nor cal you can have me get it for you (my father owns a HVAC company).

Very nice fab work I wish i had the time to do that to my car. It looks awsome.

Nice Job, great pics. Very informative. I'd like to see more projects like this with write-ups and pics in downloadable pdf format. Just a thought.

Very impressive. Congrats on tackling a big custom project. That IC is wider than all outside!

Are you going to cover the opening to prevent debris from damaging the heat exchangers?
