I wonder if it would be possible to convert my M2 Large SMIC & my Koyo Radiator into a Vmount setup.
It can be done, Chuck from Rotaryesxtreme can do it... I may attack this project on my car some day. DIY saves money and is FUN!

i took more pictures of setup with the ducting finished since i had to remove everything to smog the car, also i ended up using a fd tranny oil cooler to cool the power steering and havent had any problems with it.

very very nice! How much do you think that piece weighs (minus the IC and radiator)?

wow. if buy any chance could you tell us how much you have wraped up into this v-mount? from the pics this thing looks very well put together. also go you put the unit in one whole piece like is in the pics or do you have to break it you piece by piece in order to install.

Awesome work. I am really impressed. Have you thought about the possibility that with that ducting being totally closed in the rear that you might trap air at any significant speed? Seems to me that you should have some outlet for the air to pass otherwise that could create a 'dam' effect and put drag on the car.

That's an awesome job. I really like the ducting you did. I also have a v-mount and used a tranny cooler similar to your's for my power steering. Works fine.

Wow I gotta say thats an amazing job man. Very impressive and clean setup. Do you mind if I copy it? I was going to attempt a V mount setup over winter. Do you think you could share some dimensional info on that bad boy? But I would definitely do all the ducting in carbon fiber simpy becasue it woudl look a little better...or would it?

Yes, please show how the ducting works with the front bumper. The fab work looks great.

if there is less area for the air to go in the pressure will go up so it is probably negligable.

thanks for the compliments,

Fish- with the measurements i took before i ordered the intercooler i knew it would sit on the frame rails but fitting the radiator took me two days because i couldn't decide what angle and height i wanted to use. and where i was going to move stuff like AST, power steering, battery

dubulup- all the brackets and ducting i would guess it weighs around 15 pounds or less all the metals used are 6061t6 aluminum so its very light, tomorrow ill finish putting every thing back in and post some pictures.

FromSilvia2seven- if i remember correctly i spent about $800, to install i just take off the bumper and slide in the hole unit and put 3 bolts on each side and rest the intercooler on the frame rails and bolt it up.

DGblk93- i dont think that having the ducting closed off in the back traps air but that it forces air to go through the IC/radiator but i was thinking of making a few 2" holes on the right side to get some cold air to the intakes.

Xeros- copy it thats what the pics are for no prob PM me for the dimensional info and any other questions, as for the ducting i would not use carbon fiber because after a while carbon starts getting faded also i hate the mess that comes with making anything out of fiberglass/carbon

rynberg- ill post pics tomarrow

I was wondering if you could tell me where you got your Tranny cooler. Also where did you get the connectors for the fan cables.

For the fan cables all you have to do is cut them and make them longer.
