You can ony get about 4-5 PSI while the engine is not under load (i.e. idling and revving it).

Check boost under load, not just revving it up.

Yep.. try starting in 2nd or (preferably) 3rd or 4th to make sure you are getting adequate backpressure yadda yadda to get that gauge movin

to test if you have leaks in your intercooler piping, rev the engine in netural to 7krpm and if you can get 4-5psi (at least for stock turbos), you dont have any leaks. actually if you can get over 4psi, that is pretty good. if you really want to check if the boost gauge is working, buy a vaccum/pressure tester such as the Mityvac vacuum/pressure pump.

maybe you have a vacuum leak somewhere

that happened to me once but when i popped the hood, i noticed the vacuum line to the bov was pinched when i closed the hood, i re-routed it and i got boost..

I don't think I had any leaks. My turbos made perfect 10-8-10 stock, then 17 lbs on BNRs non seq...I just couldn't make any boost in nuetral...I just thought that was the way it was supposed to be. It doesn't matter now anyway since its all gone
