Talking my best FD mod ever!

If you spend as much time under your Fd as I do, getting a lift is well worth the money. And don't worry a new roof is on its way so we can raise the lift fully (6 feet)

Congrats. I recently put a ROTARY (LOL what else) 7k lb. two-post lift in my shop. Makes things sooooo much easier.

I badly want one of these too. I've thought about building a garage w/a couple an renting them out to make some of my money back.

Very nice. Only prob is, you can't use that type of lift on a car w/ sideskirts...it'll crush 'em. You need a traditional lift, and even then you'll still need to raise the mounting points to their max point before raising the lift arms... God it's such a pain...

Not sure about side-skirts, but most of the manufacturer's sell accessories to accomodate running-boards etc. I've never looked under a car with side-skirts. Do they extend a long way under the car?

Most lifts like that have optional, detachable spacers that can usually get around the sideskirt problem. Sometimes blocks of wood can be used in the same way.

Skirts usually do run along the entire length between the two wheels (ie fender to quarter panel). And *most* don't just sit on the exterior; they extend under the umm...part that his lift it holding (rocker panel??). But it's only on the outer half, while the stock jack mounting points (w/ the indentations) are on the inside half of that part (rocker panel?) I'd love to see some type of attachment that would enable you to use a lift easily w/ such skirts, b/c as I mentioned, even w/ traditional professional lifts, it's quite a problem. We had to use different mounting points like the subframe and even the rear (control) arms *cringe* to raise my car...

Actually the lift comes with rubber lift blocks that you put down between the lift and the car, and with my 99 spec side skirts that I test fitted today, your able to lift the car and even have a few mm inbetween. Thanks for the skirts too Ramy, they look great, now to get them painted. Also, I chose this lift for a few reasons, One, there are no annoying poles in the way, Two, you can remove the wheels, instead of the four post type, and it is WAY MORE sturdy then any other lift Ive seen before.

heres all the info on the lift: In my opinion it was well worth the money. By the way I paid about $2,600 back in the fall.

My next project is to add another bay to the garage and take all that junk you see in the pics and move it all to one bay and have my 2 car garage just for our two FD's. And the lift is going to get sunk into the ground so it sits flush with the concrete. Thanks for looking.

nice - Scrub and I just got a bendpak 4 post lift to store our FD's.

We went with the 4 post so we can store one FD over the other, we'll be making our own lift/garage thread soon!

definitely very handy.

*off topic
i was just thinking while looking over that website, their parking lifts would be very handy in japan where you want two cars and only have one parking space but don't want to pay for an extra parking space.

Nice! Im thinking of getting a 4 post for the other side of my garage, so I can store my FD's on top of each other and keep the side with the lift open so when I want to put a freinds car on the lift one of my cars wont have to be put outside. Can't wait to see your post and pics, good luck.

I put a two post in my orchard workshop over Christmas. Fits great and my ceiling is only 11'. Got it off Craigslist for $1,300. Rewired the 220v at the same time: two days work and total investment of $1,800. Save's me hours of time, pounds of knuckle flesh, and I won't be going to hell as soon for all the swearing from crawing under the car!
