muffler removal question

does anyone have some slick way of getting the stock muffler off of the rubber hangers holding it up. I know two of them can be unbolted, but one hanger needs to be freed from the rubber hanger, and I'd prefer not destroying it to do so.

thanks

Yeah, spray the sucker with wd-40 or liquid wrench. Take a flathead screwdriver and put it between the hanger and the rubber bushing, inserting from the side the hanger enters on. Pry up, and the rubber bushing should slide down the screwdriver and off.

Put a little bit of grease on the end of the metal support. Take a large channel lock and open it to the proper size. Put one end of the channel lock on the end of the metal support. Put the other end on the opposite side, on the rubber hanger. Squeeze the metal support as far as you can into the rubber hanger. Once you do this, it is very easy to remove the rest of the way.

Use a jack to support the muffler. It will make it easier to get the rubber hanger off....after you spray it down w/ WD40 of course.
