Exclamation Which Muffler to go with?

OK I searched on the forum and came to the conclusion that everyone seems to like the Borla XR-1 40944 muffler. Problem is I can't find a place that has them in stock for a month or so. So in my searches I also seen people seem to like the Magnaflow 12249 muffler. I also seen that it is widely believed that this is the same muffler that RX7Store.net uses in their resonated midpipe that they sell. I can get this muffler ASAP and its $60-$70 cheaper than the Borla. So which one would you guys suggest over the other? Which sounds better, which flows better, how loud are they, etc etc? My car has these other flow mods: Non-sequential conversion w/ ported wastegate, 3" downpipe, 3" catback, Apexi intakes, Greddy FMIC and Greddy elbow.

Thanks everyone.

Anyone have any input? I'm just wondering if it's worth waiting the month for the Borla to come in.

Summit Racing has the Borla, but it's not available until 3/24: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

IMO, I would wait for the Borla. Some things are worth waiting for...

Thats the kind of answer I'm looking for, thank you. I'm gonna just wait or check a couple of local spots to see if they have it in stock.

I'm looking to put something in my midpipe. I have a 3" dp, mp, and an Apexi N1 catback. When I bought this I didn't realize this was pretty much the loudest exhaust for these cars. I'm looking to make it a little more quiet and avoid or at least help boost creep. My brother didn't want to open up the wastegate and Dave at KDR, who is going to do my tunning, said this would help. I'm just trying to figure out what is best to weld in or if I should just buy a resonated midpipe.

Easy way is just to get a resonated midpipe from Rx7store or you can just buy a magnaflow and have it welded to your midpipe...

I might have a Re-Amemiya SD Converter with 150 miles coming in soon, $1200 from Re-Amemiya, it will be around $650 to $700. That is of course baller status, like all parts I sell.

I would like to be baller status but I've spent a lot of money thus far. My car was bone stock when I bought it and I've done my best to turn it into a beast, sticking with the twins. Plus I'm a student and I just got excepted to nursing school so I'm lucky to have done as much as I have. Plus I'm dealing with setting up my Hagerty policy tomorrow (they don't do payment plans) and I've got my money saved for the tune which I'll be trailering the car to. Don't worry though once I get my RN and start making the big bucks, I'll be needing some of your baller parts, lol.
