Okay I have done a lot of research and came to the conclusion that the 4 most important gauges are:
Boost
Oil Temp
Water Temp
Fuel Pressure
Although a/f is important I dont have a wideband and therefore renders it useless. So my question is to choose between oil or water temp, which is more important, I will be using Defi BF gauges in Franks tri-pod. I am settled on getting boost and fuel pressure for sure, unless someone thinks otherwise? Any input would be greatly appreciated, or if you would suggest another gauge that is fine to, but a/f and egt arent of my concern. All the threads were over a year old, so maybe their was some new information that became available. Thanks for your time and I hope some valuable input is generated.

Is Frank's tri-pod one of those ones that goes where the center speaker is?
If so, why not mount a boost gauge on the A-pillar, and then the fuel pressure, water, and oil gauges in the tri-pod?
If you had to pick between water and oil, I'd pick water I guess.

Definitely water temp. Unless you are tracking the car, oil temps are almost always within an "acceptable" range. I'm very glad to have an oil temp for tracking the car, but it is fairly useless for street driving -- other than something else to watch and drive yourself nuts with.
i would say water too. i have the Defi BF gauges and frank's tri pod. i have a dual a-pillar with water temp and boost and then in the tri-pod i have oil temp, oil pressure, and fuel pressure
maybe that's overkill. maybe i just like gauges

in process of doing Defi D boost and water temperature gauges (speaker dual pod).
I heard FD's stock water temperature gauges are very inaccurate, by the time the gauge shown hot most engines would alreadly burnt up...too late.

water temp gauge.
My experience is that the water and the oil temp gauges read the same when my R1 idles for awhile. The oil temp would drop more than the water temp once the car starts moving.
In other words, when the car is stading still, there is very little, if any, cooling of the oil since there is no air flow through the oil coolers. The oil temp would reach a steady state temp which is the water temp. Therefore, the oil temp will always read lower or the same as the water temp. I think it is better to monitor the temp which is going to be higher, which is the water temp. Sorry for being so long winded.

I still agree that water temp is more important than oil temp though.
