Mooo from 94 RX-7

HELLO!! I am new to the RX World as I just got my First RX-7 a few days ago. I got a nice Black 1994 Twin Turbo and man does it have power, more than my 95 Mustang GT.... I hope to take some pictures soon and I will post them when I do.

In the mean time I have a question about the "Mazda Moo" as people seem to call it. I did some searching here and found a few things but I would like some more info on it... My Moo seems to be frequent and is starting to bother me. I mostly here it after the turbos go off and the car is at a crusing speed.. I also seem to here it when I am around 2000 RPM's. Does anyone know where I can get more info on this? The real question I have is, is this normal to be happining alot? Any links or information would be great!!

Thanks for the help!!

Do you have the stock air box on the car?

the moo is more than likely the air pump turning off and on.Disconnect the electrical connector that goes to the air pump and see if this noise goes away.

One thing I did forget to mention... If I take my foot off the gas while the moo is going on it seems to stop. But if I give it a good push it will come right back. I will try that to see if it makes any difference... Thank you.

This is all normal stuff. Do a search under "moo" and you'll find that this is common.

You might want to check the larger hose going to the BOV. I had a split in mine years ago which produced the same sound. It would moo as pressure built and leaked air from acceleration.
