Alternator/ Charging problem...need help.
I just had my alternator rebuilt and I replaced the battery. Here's what happened yesterday. I picked the car up and was driving my volt reading on my PFC was 14.0 to 14.3 volts while driving and around 12.3 while idling. That is normal for my car. After driving the car for about 15 minutes the volts dropped to 11.8 and they would not go back up. I was able to park the car and let it set for about 10 minutes. When I started it back up the volts were once again reading 14.0 to 14.3. After I drove the car for about 10 minutes it happened again. The water temps both times were around 95 degrees celcius.
What could be the problem?

What was your alternator doing before you had it rebuilt?
It sounds like the problem wasn't your alternator brushes, but rather the voltage regulator.

The car drove fine Sunday August 28th. No voltage problems. The car drove fine yesterday Sunday September 5th during the day but last night the voltage dropped to 11.6 and would not go back up. (I know the car was running on the battery at that point)
