^^^OK David... how rude! Introductions please? Maybe "Pictured L to R"? I know Trey. I take it that Fritz is the guy at the whiteboard explaining the track, and the only female in the photos must be his wife, correct?
I swear, one of my biggest pet peeves when I go to rotary events is that no one knows who is who. If they made nametags mandatory you wouldn't come away from events going "What? Who was there?" "Daum, wish I had known. I really wanted to meet them."

Dan with the white LS2 FD here.
Great day at the track fo sho! Actually, this is the first time I've been able to truly DRIVE the FD, as I had power steering issues at previous events (first with MR2 electric pump setup, then a collapsed feed hose with GXP GT pump).
Street tires => a lot of unintentional and semi-intentional dorifto action. Passengers were adequately entertained, I hope
I was worried about pads, running StopTech streets up front, parts store Duralast Gold (!) in back (my CarboTech XP10s were 650 miles away!), but taking it easy in the braking zones and lifting/coasting for the last ~1/4 of the straight (still hit 140mph!) worked great, no brake issues all day

Glad you had fun and sorry I wasn't able to get to know you better hopefully next time we can hang out some
I feel like Fritz's reviews have ruined the GT3 for me. Ive never personally had the opportunity to drive one, but it always seemed like the perfect car. Buy it right from the showroom, and go have a lethal track weapon that is all setup and perfectly controllable, yet still retains some civility for street duty. Then Fritz points out he'd like it to have have like 10k with of upgrades to compete with tired old FDs and its sketchy at the limit.. I guess it saved me some money in the future anyway.
As Pete mentioned you could literally beat it to death with the AC on (I also ran an entire session with the AC on) in hot weather and have no issues. We almost ran out of gas on track because I was so lax I wasn't worried or even thinking about anything mechanical just hopping in turning the key and ripping.
However with all that said the FD is more fun to drive than any car I've ever driven so it's unbeatable IMO BUT as we all know it's a maint and reliability night mare JUST LIKE ANY OTHER TURBO CAR (especially if you want big power) I had to add that
^^^
I gather the 997 he had was better. This 996 was just a set up disaster.
However, with the little skinny front tires, boosty power steering, and light front end, I'm not sure it'll ever feel like an FD. The brakes @#$%ing ROCKED, as did the throttle response and exhaust sound. And the fact that I looked down and realized I was driving with the A/C on.

Rxmfn7... I've owned 4 Porsches and unless you have spent time in them you can't understand the weird cornering behavior that 911's have. Everyone's read about snap oversteer and that Porsche finally licked the problem some time ago. Nope. When pushed, the physics of having the engine weight behind the rear axle cannot be denied. You can mitigate the problem to where its effects are pushed way out there, but when you push the car that far, its there.

But also it's no problem at all to drive tail out the entire time if you're used to the balance.

I'm the guy in the tan T-shirt and blue VIR cap in the classroom pic. That's also me (now in dark blue long sleeves) belting into the FC about two pics later.

Some of my pics;
I wish my pictures had turned out better; and i had a telephoto lens with me but it wouldn't seem to work. Not a bad thing, but i spent too much time hanging out and didn't get pictures of everybody's car as intended, so i apologize for that as well. Enough talking though......

The GT3 is an amazing machine, but it can't be driven at the track w/ a Fritz Flynn string alignment done a couple min before he packs up the trailer. Also, they need fresh tires or they are a handful. This is true for any 911.
Also, Fritz's GT3 has fancy suspension on it and I'm sure it's not dialed in correctly for his style of driving. I'd be willing to bet the rake on the car is messed up or it's setup for slicks and he's out on O L D *** tires stamped from 2007
Fritz, here's what I run at VIR and find it works best with my Moton setup. In July I bump down the low speed to 1 once the track gets all greasy and this seems to help with understeer.
700lbs in front with a 225 tender.
Front canister set at 150psi (measured in the air)
low speed compression 3 from zero
high speed compression 5 from zero
Rebound 6 from zero
Rear:
900lbs main
250lbs tender
Canister pressure 175psi ( measured in the air)
low speed compression 4
high speed compression 6
Rebound 8
Front alignment specs:
-2.8
1/32 of toe in
stock caster
Rear
-3.0
stock kinematic
1/16 of rear toe-in
Rear wing angle set at 6 degrees.
Happy to hear all the newbies enjoyed the track and hopefully we'll see you all trackside more often! Peter, the Techno's look great.

As others have said, I intended on getting much more video/photos over the course of the day; however, being slightly distracted, it didn't work out that way, unfortunately. I have pieced together everything I did get that was worthwhile though.
I wanted to overlay the dyno results for each run, but only had my numbers.
I am the silver '94 LS2 with RPF1s, by the way.

I'm pissed I missed this event and the 3-day PCA event. My car is back in the shop due to complications from the accident. I hope to have it all sorted out next month.

It was setup for slicks with a really big radius out back so now the rake is jacked up for sure. But it's low in the back which should make it push.
Tires were cheap NT01s. Don't forgot I once had a GT3 and YES they need rubber but you know I'm a cheap *** bastard
The original shock setting were very close to what you have there.
I took out a lot of rebound from the back its now:
C2
R5
Front:
C10
R8
F bar is 1 off stiff
R bar is 1 off soft
Ramon says stiffer springs and fatter bars are must for even hoos?
The above changes helped a lot but it's still a handful.
Is the 16th toe out back total or each side?
I'll go zero toe up front
