I am going to purchase some sprayer nozzles from another cars hoods at a junk yard and mount them on a bracket behind my SMIC because the thing gets so damn hot at stoplight

My goal is to utilize the stock washer fluid motor to pump the water to the nozzles...all I would have to do is reroute the stock rubber hoses down to the I/C area..but when I activate the washer of course the stupid windshield wipers move in conjuction

Is there any way to pull some sort of fuse or disconnect something that sends the signal to the Wiper Motor? Is there an incoming wiring into the wiper motor from the washer motor that relay's the signal from the dash that i could snip??

I really do not want to rewire the whole damn pump to a seperate switch...id like to be able to pull the dash lever and only pump water!

 

Are you looking to disable you wiper motors altogether in order to do this? It seems as though you should maybe try to do this and still keep the wipers functional.

Why not just get another pump and install it to your washer reserve tank. Costs 5 bucks. Run some tubing to your IC and wires to your interior.

Doesn't really do much anyway.

 

Hit up http://www.autospeed.com and search around for intercooler sprayers. They had a REALLY good how-to a while back on IC sprayers, found what's the best nozzles and pumps to use, etc.

The trick is to get a good atomization of the water - a windshield washer nozzle just squirts a stream, which isn't going to do much cooling. If you get the water atomized into a fine mist, that does the most benefit.

BTW, some of the articles require a subscription to access, but it's well worth the money. I've been a subscriber for years and they have TONS of good tech info and how-to's.

Do you guys think it would be much more effective to purchase a vented hood, or have vents installed into my OEM hood...allowing air flow from the fans to rise through the hood at stoplights etc?
