Which MOD next? Need Help

Hey guys,

I sorry if these questions sound kinda newbish, but I am confused as to what MOD i should do to my car next. The only mod I have on my car currently is a new intake. These are the mods I want to do soon, but what order should i do them in: New system, Downpipe, Rims, Exhaust, lowering springs ? Also, if i just get a new downpipe, do I have to get a new exhaust or will it dmg my car without replacing a new exhaust and ECU. Thanks for reading this post. Hope you guys can help me out. =)

Alot of guys will tell you to search but i'll help you out. First should be all relibality mods, fuel filter, aluminum ast, boost gauge. If you get a dp you don't have to get a new exhaust. but w/ the combination of dp and intake you can't get a new exhaust w/o upgrading the computer. same goes w/ if you get an exhaust and an intake, you can't get the dp. As far as everything else goes w/ the system and rims, that's personal preferance. I would get the dp b/c most guys beleive that is a relibility mod. Keeps the temps down under the hood and you get to remove the pre-cat that usually clogs. Hope this helps, Nick

DP is a great mod. Definitely do it next.

Change the vac hoses if they are original or getting old.

The other stuff (wheels, suspension) are good next steps too.

I am guessing that you want to keep the stock ECU like I do. Good choice, especially if you want to keep the car for a long time.

Definitely the downpipe.. it'll reduce a lot of the engine temps.. and also gain around 15-20rwhp (depending on the car).. but mainly, you'd want to get rid of that stock pre cat, as it tends to clog up pretty easily, causing lots of heat..

thanks for the help and replies guys. I was also confused as to which brand downpipe to get. I know its personal preference, but I saw the HKS for around $200 but the mild steel is holding me back. I was also looking at the M2 or the petit. Give me some feedback about these downpipes if you guys can. Thanks alot.

Pretty much all 3" downpipes are the same.. the hks one was made for j spec rx7's so it has a bend which isn't necessary.. american dp's flow better, but it probably doesn't make that much of a difference.. but make sure u get stainless steel.. mild steel will eventually rust through..

Wanna save money?
Buy a used precat for $50, have a friend cut a square3"x2"(I used a plasma cutter), gut it, and re-weld it. Instant downpipe!
BTW, also get a water temp guage asap!
