Microsoft is looking for a 3 rotor
Hello everybody, I dont know which would be the best place on the forum to post this so I will post it in a few places. Moderators feel free to re-direct them to the appropriate sub-forum if needed.
Microsoft is looking for a 3 rotor powered car to use for capturing audio. The 3 rotor engine has a very unique sound and we are hoping to find an extremely aggressive sample that would send shivers down your spine. If you have, or know someone who has a car that might fit the following criteria please let us know:
• 3 Rotor Engine
• Aggressive Exhaust
• Naturally Aspirated (no turbo cars, sorry :[ )
• High RPM Capable (8500+ would be ideal)
• Ported/Polished or Race Tuned a big plus. Think super aggressive!
We would be running your car on loaded dyno while capturing the sound. It’s a pretty cool process and we’ve recorded hundreds of cars before using the same technique. As car people know, there is no substitute for the sound of the real thing, and we appreciate any one willing to help us ensure we capture the true character of the rotary engine!
You can reply here or talk to Lzamboni (me) and we will contact prospective candidates privately. Thank you!

Thanks a lot everybody, unfortunately I am not in liberty to discuss any information regarding the recording yet. We will be contacting some of the people that kindly offered their cars and go from there.
Thanks again and it is really nice to see the Rotary community come to help so fast

You should talk to Jim Labreck. Check your companys GAL his name should be in there. He'd probably be the one to get you the fastest access to a 20B in seattle.
NA engines create very different sounds and response with different intake manifolds and throttle body selection.
Make sure you record more than just the exhaust, the intake sound of an NA rotary is just as defined as the exhaust note.
I assume this is for an upcoming racing/ simuulation game.
If your looking into taking a bite out of the Grand Turismo franchise's market, it would be a good idea to make your cars extremely customizable... More than just stage 1 - 4 turbo kits, exhaust, intake, etc.
P.S. Make a 4 rotor option, the 3 rotor is no longer an unobtainable dream lime it was 3 - 5 years ago. There are more than a couple on the road and tracks that are privatley owned. As opposed the the 4 rotor is still out of grasp, except for the select few "lucky sons of b-----s"
