I don't know, could be a coincidence but I know my car sits most of the time and my oil pressure gauge is starting to go flaky. Sometimes it seems to stick in a high position even after its warmed up but then will be normal next time I drive. I don't think the FDs like to sit for very long. They get antsy. I realize my comment is not very helpful

Since others have brought this up from the dead, let me go off on a tangent here.

I have an aftermarket gauge. Has anyone ever tried to tie the signal from the aftermarket sending unit into the stock harness' wire? Yeah, it's a little redundant, but at least you won't have a dead gauge.

I've removed the stock unit. My Defi unit is using a port on the greddy oil pedestal. I'm thinking of removing it from there and using the stock hole.

I don't know at the moment what voltage the stock unit is sending.

Just food for thought.

Grounding problem?

I had a flaky oil pressure gauge that improved considerably after installing a better ground path from neg batt terminal to frame. Just FYI.

Ok ive looked around for the most common scenario for me.

In my case, my oil pressure guage wont budge, it sits there as if it were dead. What are the possible solutions to this? also is it going to cost me alot of bank? I really dont know whats the case... but the gauge wont move whatsoever. There isnt more to this... it just wont move... what is the fault in this?
